Prysmian scoops award

Prysmian has been recognised for its efforts to help local students gain important new skills as it won the Developing People Award in Eastleigh College’s training ambassador awards.

Prysmian was picked out by the college’s senior management team from more than 100 submissions made, on behalf of local businesses offering apprenticeships, by students at the college.

The submission was made by Nicola Bartholomew, a student at Eastleigh College, who has been working in the Company’s Trade and Installers telesales team under the guidance of Laura Mitchell who heads the department.

The awards ceremony took place on March 7th during National Apprenticeship Week and saw Prysmian described as an employer which goes beyond the call of duty to promote and invest in learning and development.

Paul Atkinson, the firm’s UK chief executive, said: “This is an outstanding and proud achievement for our company. The fact people believe in us to go that extra step is just very motivating.
“I am touched that Nicola went that extra step and nominated us to be recognised in the very important area of apprenticeships. It is something we all very much believe in here at Prysmian.”
